Squadrons of dirigibles cross the sea in the first wave of a bombing raid.

Artist's note: This image contains four groups of dirigibles in an 18-unit formation based on the WWII Javelin Down formation, for a total of 72 airships. Originally, I wanted to do a picture with a thousand (then more sanely a couple of hundred) airships, but the limitations of Bryce when saving high numbers of objects weighed me down. Even with 54 of the airships as stripped-down models, I ran into too much trouble working on the file. I suppose I could have done a lot of postwork to add ships, but I wanted the shadows to line up right. So here you have it: 72 dirigibles. I have also posted a version of the scene from below and a version with just one airship.
